Equals International Base Building Upgrade + Fitout

Mossop completed a comprehensive base build refurbishment and fitout, transforming an existing four-storey building into a contemporary private tertiary teaching campus.

The project involved extensive building services upgrades, structural modifications and high-quality fitout works within an existing building environment.

Key works included:

• Major services infrastructure upgrades
• Structural strengthening of existing timber trusses to accommodate new plant requirements
• New plant platforms and maintenance walkways
• Complete roof replacement
• Commercial-grade window installation across all façades
• Floor levelling works
• High-quality teaching, collaboration and communal spaces

The completed fitout features glazed meeting rooms, bespoke timber-laminate joinery, a striking butterfly marble reception counter and modular glass brick elements, creating a contemporary and distinctive learning environment.

One of the key project challenges was the absence of lift access across all four levels. To overcome this, the project team carefully coordinated logistics and utilised an external material hoist to safely and efficiently transport materials while maintaining the project program.

The successful delivery of the project was underpinned by a collaborative, solutions-focused approach between Mossop, the client, architect and subcontractors. Together, the team navigated the complexities of refurbishing an existing building while delivering a high-quality contemporary campus.
