Ceduna District Health Services

Redevelopment

Client: Dept. for Planning, Transport and Infrastructure for SA Health and Ceduna District Health Service
Duration: 19 Months
Delivery: AS 2124-1992 DPTI Managing Contractor
Value: $35m

Project involved the construction of 3,500m2 new hospital build and a 1800m2 refurbishment of the existing hospital building for use as a GP Plus facility in the remote south west of South Australia with a project timeframe of 19 months.

New areas of the hospital include theatres, resuscitation, birthing, palliative care, acute, aged care, catering and engineering facilities. Completed on schedule despite the remote location and competition for trade contractors.

Engaged as Managing Contractor by the Department of Planning, Transport & Infrastructure on behalf of SA Health, Mossop Construction + Interiors actively participated in Design Phase of the project including recommending material selections based on remoteness of site and the availability of skilled trades to carry out the works.

Established in early Partnering Workshop with all project team members, a number of Key Resultant Areas (KRA’s) were established to measure the success of the project. These KRA’s addressed High Performance, Value/Cost, ESD/Environment and Legacy Key Performance Indicators. Upon completion of the project these were subsequently reviewed and all outcomes were achieved or excelled to ensure overall success of the project.
