Port Augusta Prison Redevelopment

The project comprised extensive redevelopment works at Port Augusta Prison, delivered in two stages: Stage 1 – Bluebush and Stage 2 – Greenbush.

Works included upgrades to inmate cells within both blocks, featuring improved layouts, enhanced natural light, new floor coverings, upgraded services (including air-conditioning), and a general refresh to meet modern standards. Additional upgrades were completed in the Staff Post, Prisoner Kitchens, Amenities, and Interview Rooms.

In Bluebush, an outdoor space was transformed from an asphalt basketball court into two modern yards with shade structures, seating, basketball half-courts, fixed gym equipment, and sensory finishes.

Due to the secure nature of the facility, Stage 1 required a temporary sally-port, additional secure fencing, and a new gate for access to Bluebush Yard 3.
