Mossop’s were pleased to welcome Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack, Premier Steven Marshall, Tony Pasin MP and Elaine Bensted from Zoos SA to our site at Monarto Safari Park.

We are pleased to announce we have been named Managing Contractor on the new $16.8m state-of-the-art Visitor Centre which is due for completion in February 2022.

The  project received $11.25m of funding from the Australian Government and $4.55m from the State Government towards a total $16.8m cost of building the new Visitor Centre. The Rural City of Murray Bridge is also contributing to the project through the construction of a new slip lane entry from Monarto Road. The new Visitor Centre will support the growth of Monarto Safari Park and allow an estimated additional 55,000 people per annum whilst creating over 130 jobs during construction.

Designed by Intro Architecture Pty Ltd and Studio-gram the building is a celebration and acknowledgement of both Indigenous land and African fauna. The design is divided into two distinct ribbon forms, one is solid rammed earth walls the other is lightweight corten cladding which intertwine with each other expressing the two major architectural influences. An external circular courtyard is located in the centre of the development providing sheltered spaces accessible to amenities, ticketing, café, seminar and gift shop.

Construction on the new Visitor Centre has officially commenced, with earthwork machinery already onsite. The building will be constructed in a progression of quadrants reflective of the design. The VIsitor Centre is the first stage of the Safari Park's major redevelopment and will be yet another drawcard for the Park which attracts around 160,000 local, national and international visitors in a normal year

We are thrilled to be working with Zoos SA, Intro Architects, Studio-gram and the entire consulting team on this exciting major tourism drawcard.
