Expanding our footprint in regional South Australia

14/02/20

Mossop Constructions + Interiors has a string of successful, regional projects to our credit and we are now looking forward to expanding our footprint even further into South Australia’s south-east and Victoria’s south-west.

Over the past 10 years, our regional team has completed over 20 key projects worth more than $85 million across Mount Gambier, through to Nhill, Stawell and Portland, and now we have plans to expand our work – and grow our team - across the region.

One of the keys to our company’s success is the fact our team is based locally and genuinely appreciates the impact their work has on local businesses and communities. In fact, we recently took a team photo and added up just how long our team has lived in the local area and combined, it was 221 years!

Having delivered successful projects across South Australia, including a focus on the south-east, regional Victoria and New South Wales, our team is recognised for its outstanding project delivery across market segments including:

  • Office space
  • Commercial
  • Education
  • Health and Allied Services
  • Retirement Living and Aged Care
  • Civic, Community and Sporting
  • Retail and Financial
  • Hospitality and Tourism
  • Legal, Law Enforcement and Correctional
  • Industrial

Getting the job done lies in the hands of a team of stable, proven Mossop employees who work collaboratively with our clients, professional services consultants and stakeholders, all committed to delivering projects of the highest standards.

Mossop’s project delivery includes:

  • Fitout
  • Construction
  • Refurbishment
  • Heritage Works
  • Managing Contractor
  • Project Management
  • Design and Construct
  • Base Building Upgrades
  • Relocations and Decommissioning
  • Property Development
  • Quality Assurance and HSE Management
  • Environmental and Sustainability Expertise

We’re very proud that we can genuinely offer an experienced, dedicated and multifaceted team that can take on almost any project, and deliver with proven results.

Recent projects the team has delivered include the new Community Wellbeing Centre at Boandik Lodge in Mount Gambier, which caters for older people and people with disabilities, featuring a hydrotherapy pool, gymnasium, treatment and activity rooms, outdoor therapy rehabilitation area, changerooms and toilets.

Working on the Boandik project was terrific, not only because we knew just how much these new facilities would be appreciated by the Boandik community, but also because it was lovely to meet and connect with the residents who were really involved in watching the progress of the project and took such a keen interest in what we were up to.

We have also recently completed the $2.3 million upgrade of the renal dialysis unit at the Mount Gambier and Districts Health Service, which almost doubles the capacity of the previous facility.

Supporting local trades and businesses wherever we can, is a key commitment by Mossop Constructions + Interiors, many local south-east trades were used on both these recent projects.

We used 17 local companies who completed about 70 per cent of the work on the Boandik Lodge project and we only sourced specialist trades from outside the region for specific elements, like the construction of the hydrotherapy pool. For the upgraded renal unit at the hospital, around 50 per cent of the tradies were local.

We are also proud to give back to the local community through our sporting club sponsorships with South Gambier Football Club, West Gambier Football Club, International Soccer and the Glencoe Football and Netball Club.

Other Mossop regional projects include delivery of multiple projects at Mount Gambier Prison, the Nhill Law Court upgrade, the Robe Medical Centre, Portland Library Refurbishment, various Commonwealth Bank retail projects across SA and into Victoria and the Mildura Airport redevelopment.

We’re now working hard on the $3.1 million Stage 2 addition to St Martins Lutheran College in Mount Gambier, the On The Run petrol station in Stawell and first stages of Timberlink’s major expansion plans for a new Sawline Project, which has just started at their Tarpeena site.

Mossop have recently celebrated 40 years of operations in the building industry and today our multi award-winning family business directly employs more than a 150 dedicated staff.

We’re really looking forward to a busy 2020 and believe part of our winning formula is that our projects are driven by our local office and team, taking huge pride in adding value to our communities.

Not surprisingly, we’re keen to do more!
