University of South Australia Pridham Hall

Construction

Client: University of South Australia
Duration: 28 Months
Value: $45m

A ‘Crossing the Horizon’ development and iconic SA project, Pridham Hall will form the heart of University of South Australia’s City West campus and involves construction of a dynamic sports, cultural, and recreational complex - able to be reconfigured to a multi-purpose ‘Great Hall’ for exams, graduations, and events.

The multi-purpose hall is located at ground level and rises externally to form a plaza and amphitheatre integrated with the existing Jeffrey Smart building at the western end of Hindley Street in the CBD. Delivered under the managing contractor model, facilities include 25m lap and leisure pool at lower ground level, basement gymnasium and fitness centre, plenary spaces, back of house and storage areas, and embedded AV technologies to support a multitude of indoor and outdoor functions. The multi-purpose hall will comprise either a 2,200-seat graduation hall arrangement or 2 national standard basketball courts. The facility also includes rock climbing walls, and a ground and first floor 400 seat function space.
