Mossop delivered alterations and additions to the existing aged care Payneham Ward within the North Eastern Community Hospital (NECH), Campbelltown SA.This project involved the full refurbishment to the ward which significantly improved the level of comfort to residents and staff alike

The dated aged care rooms were refurbished removing the shared bathroom facilities and providing ensuite bathrooms to all bedrooms (15 in total), together with new staff facilities and upgrades to building services. The new ensuite bathrooms in the existing aged care rooms greatly improved the residents' comfort and privacy. The upgraded staff facilities provided a more efficient and pleasant working environment for the staff members. The overall refurbishment created a contemporary and high-quality setting that exceeded the expectations of both residents and staff.

The construction of the additional 8 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a sunroom expanded the capacity of the aged care ward, allowing for more residents to be accommodated. The first-floor 'cold shell' provides the opportunity for future expansion, potentially for medical consulting rooms, which will further enhance the services offered by NECH.

A new upgraded courtyard offers a safe and comfortable outdoor space for the residents to enjoy. It was designed to accommodate various activities while maintaining the necessary safety measures.

The successful completion of this project required strong communication and coordination between Mossop, the design consultants, and the client. Daily consultations ensured that the work was executed smoothly, despite the sensitive and occupied areas being worked on. The collaboration between all parties involved was crucial in achieving the desired outcome within an operational facility.
