This integrated Surf Life Saving Facility included ground floor toilets, change rooms, gym and first aid room with attached garage/storage space, a bar (level 1) and recreation space including commercial kitchen and office.

Project challenges

Coordination and construction of detailed facade and cladding system including Reckli mould precast panels, Desert Sand coloured precast panels, Plain grey precast panels, front glazed aluminium and glazing system including both double and glazing glazed units and incorporating a rounded corner, feature Modwood cladding, cement sheet cladding, spotted gum feature timber blades and alucobond high level canopy and soffit.

Latent conditions found while undertaking bulk excavation of the existing sand dunes in order to create the building pad.

Highlights

Due to the level of detail involved in the construction design process for the reckli panels, and challenges that arose in ground when constructing the building pad, the precast erection was a big occasion; signifying the defining moment in the project and a significant shift in the program pace.
