Glenunga International High School sits on a site area of 2.50ha and is bordered by L'Estrange and Conyngham Streets, Glenunga.

Part of the governments and Department for Education ‘Expanding Our Schools’ initiative, the redevelopment provided new and significantly upgraded existing accommodation to provide facilities for an additional 100 students on this popular public high school campus and in line with the projected enrollment data provided by DECD Data Management.

The school prior to the redevelopment consisted of solid construction buildings constructed between 1961 and 2005, DEMAC transportable buildings and metal transportable building.

As part of the redevelopment of the school, the works consists of the following new construction and refurbishment activities:

  • The delivery of the new site focal statement entry two storey building comprising of Reception, Resource Centre, ten classrooms, student and international student services and amenities.
  • Redeveloped Art and Music/Drama studios.
  • Redeveloped Science Laboratories.
  • Redeveloped staffroom, administration and teacher preparation spaces, Physical Education office and change rooms.
  • IT Infrastructure and power upgrade.
  • Site, civil and landscaping works

The government and DECD aim was to provide a facility in a public school campus that would equal any of the facilities found across any of the private school campus over the state.
