This project comprised of a double-storey extension including new general learning areas, conference room, tutorial rooms, break out spaces, STEM and multimedia facilities. The existing forum spaces including two, covered and paved break out spaces were also refurbished.
A challege for this project was the high-level coordination for a multifaceted external cladding system involving sound-proofing, structural steel window boxes, double-glazed windows, alcadex cladding, CFC cladding and a webforge shade canopy. This challenege was manageed and easliy overcome through the shopdrawing and planning phase of the project.
Seamless integration with an active school environment was achieved by developing a trusting relationship with the school’s personnel. This allowed the Mossop team to work with the school to ensure the highest level of safety was maintained at all times, and the staging of any noisy or disruptive works outside critical times for the school.
