Hills Holdings Pty Ltd Fitout was delivered by Mossop Construction+Interiors as a Construction Management Contract whilst being integrated into the building construction of this Greenstar Building. While it was not a requirement of Hills Holdings Pty Ltd to have the fitout constructed as a Greenstar fitout the principles were adopted throughout the fitout.
The design of Hills fitout was commenced at the same time as the building construction phase commenced on site which immediately provided challenges to meet early requirements of the building program to provide underground services, fibre optic cables from either street and in-floor data and power to training rooms, the show room and the main IT computer room.
As the fast track building program progressed the fitout provided additional challenges to position and install an internal circulation stair case between floors while maintaining the buildings fire rating and compartmentation requirement, this was achieved by concealed concrete walls, concrete staircase and semi-concealed fire doors while maintaining an inviting and funky open glass and structural steel staircase that links the staff between floors 1 & 2.
Prior to the base building ceiling being installed the fitout ceiling and lighting was developed to ensure that no wastage occurred and the final ceiling types, lighting and air-conditioning were installed in their final location as required by the Hills Fitout Brief.
Specialised raked triangular timber veneered ceiling panels to the ground floor reception area provided challenges to install and to incorporate air-conditioning and lighting to this space, while in the showroom perforated mini orb in a suspended grid ceiling highlighted one of the products produced by Hills Holdings.
While JPE Design was engaged by Hills Holdings Pty Ltd to design their fitout, the Base Building Architects were Hardy Milazzo Architects, this left Mossop Construction+Interiors to coordinate, manage and amalgamate the two designs into an integrated project that left both the tenant and building owner with a seamless project that met the project brief and the project KPI ie. financial, quality, safety and programming requirements from the outset.
